Credits
For the most part, everything on this site I built myself. I wrote almost all the code myself. However, I believe firmly in giving credit where credit is due, so here's a list of the resources I used in creating my site.
All the graphics on this website I created myself, using freely-available image editors. All photographs are ©2008-2010 Daniel Cassman, all rights reserved.
Graphics and Design
The tools I used to create graphics are:
I write all my code by hand. My favorite tools for coding are:
I write most of the code for this site myself. However, some tools and applications abstract out so much of the process that not using them is simply inefficient.
Scripting and Backend
I used the following scripts, applications, and extensions for this website:
- jQuery Javascript Library for javascript effects
- WordPress for the Expeditions travel log
I write all the HTML and CSS and create all the images for this site from scratch. However, I find design inspiration in countless places, far too many to list. Here are just a few of the excellent web designs from which I take inspiration.
Inspiration
Some of my favorite web designs:
- Viget Inspire Blog
- Ordered List
- Dave Shea
- Marius Roosendaal
- Daring Fireball
- Michael Potts Photography
- Daytum influenced the Snapshot page, but I wrote all the code for it myself.
