1 Icons Icons are critical to making your system look good. Here are some of the best GNOME icon sets:

2 Themes Themes change the way windows appear on your desktop. First, install some cool themes provided by the Ubuntu community: sudo apt-get install community-themes

3 GDM GDM is the login manager for GNOME. It's the screen you see when you're typing in your user name and password. Using GDM, you can customize the way that screen appears.

4 Fonts Adding and changing fonts in Ubuntu is easy, and it can improve the user experience significantly. Check out this page for a guide to installing new fonts on your Ubuntu system.
